It's the opening day of your new soup restaurant. You've spent years perfecting your craft as a chef and creating the recipe that you believe
will be the greatest thing to ever grace the taste buds of every living being across the universe.
But when your first customers sample your life's work, they don't quite understand your brilliance, and their
reviews are less than stellar.
While closing up shop and reading through some of the insulting news articles, you feel especially defeated. You forlornly wash the dishes and try to mentally prepare for a gruelling next day. “I wish that people liked my soup...”
The bubbles in the sink rapidly cluster and begin to grow into a towering form, and suddenly a genie emerges from a bowl. “My soup-erpowers allow me to grant you any one wish. What would you like?”
You dejectedly cry out, “I wish that everyone in the universe would like my soup after I worked so hard to make everything from scratch!”
“Fair enough,” the genie responds. “Your wish is my command...”
Poof!
You open your eyes to see absolutely nothing in the perceivable distance. No traces of your restaurant remain, or anything else.
It seems you have been transported to an entirely empty universe.
“What is the meaning of this?” you shout into the vacuum, unsure if anyone is listening.
“If no people exist in the universe, then everyone in the universe vacuously likes your soup! The simple contrapositive,” the genie's smug voice rings inside your head.
“But, hey, you said you were good at making things from scratch! So if you want anyone else to appreciate your food, then I'd suggest starting by building up some
matter and living things to accompany you.”
A painful silence follows. You suppose you have no other choice but to start rebuilding the universe.
But wait... maybe you don't need to craft it exactly the same as how it was before. You have the unique opportunity to
inject an affinity for your soup into every individual atom and every living organism's genetic code.
Hope courses through your veins as you set out to forge your own soup-iverse.
