The motto mentioned in the flavor text is "My heart is in the work,"
a quote from Carnegie that is the motto of CMU. This is illustrated
in the image, with a heart inside a picture representng work.
The three meta answers have items "in" them: ROLL OVER,
VAUDEVILLE, and BEAU TYING. These
words have lengths 4, 5, and 6, the same lengths that appear in this
puzzle, so we're on the right track.
From here, we can also find these items "in" another location. Because
the circular drawing mirrors the top image, we want to mirror the
phrase, and conveniently all of these words have a similar phrase
that can be made out of it:
LOVE IS IN THE AIR
(THE) DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS
BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER
AIR, DETAILS, and EYE OF THE BEHOLDER match the lengths of the
outside letters, so we place them in and take the letters in order
to spell STEAL BARS.
In a return to our artistic days of old, the swirly text in this puzzle was made using PowerPoint.
